Before meeting Grace, I thought the session would mainly be a review of my existing policies. I didn’t expect to find that there were opportunities to optimise my plans and save on costs.
The biggest takeaway for me was being able to achieve around 30% in cost savings by optimising my plans. I always knew that it was probably possible to get better options, but realistically, I didn’t have the time or mental capacity to go through all the information and compare everything myself.
Having a platform like Finexis made that process much easier and more convenient.
I think my friends are generally quite savvy when it comes to these things, so I can’t say for sure that everyone would benefit. But if more friends and family knew about this, there could definitely be opportunities for them to review what they have and potentially find some cost savings too.

I liked that we didn’t look at insurance in isolation. We looked at my finances as a whole - what I have today, what might be coming up in the future, and how much I can realistically set aside. Seeing everything mapped out on the app was useful because there were things I knew I had, but had never really put together in one picture.
Having access to different insurers also made a difference. As a consumer, I’d rather know what’s available in the market and have the information to compare, instead of only seeing the options from one company.
I think a lot of people, including my friends and family, probably don’t have a clear idea of how much they’ve actually accumulated or whether their money could be put to better use. I have known Grace for a long time as a fellow aerialist, and never once has she bothered me to purchase anything from her. From time to time, I would pop up out of the blue and ask her random questions on a particular insurance-related topic, and she has always given me her time and answered my questions (even as a non-client). Today, we spoke about purchasing a Personal Accident plan for myself. Actually, I was pretty much prepared to simply purchase this myself on Prudential’s website and indicate her as the advisor serving me. I was surprised that Grace wanted to bring me through this personally given that it is a fairly straightforward policy (and therefore a “lower value” one for her in terms of earnings). Our conversation ended up being more than 1 hour! I appreciate the detail and care which Grace put into her presentation of the policy options, and the efficiency in which the purchase was effected (I barely had to do anything, it was great). She took a position as to what was and was not suitable or recommended, and explained it very well. I left feeling that I had made a considered purchase and did not feel pressured or overwhelmed at any point in the process. Another point of note for those considering Grace to act as your financial advisor: she’s been in the field for a while and is a consistent top performer at Pru, which means that she is probably less likely to quit the company/field and leave you hanging!

One of my biggest takeaways was learning about the concept how I can plan my insurances more efficiently. I realised that by keeping my insurance costs lower and consistently investing the savings from a younger age, I could potentially accumulate more for the future compared to putting everything into a whole life plan.

Grace, as I know her, is an extremely talented and driven individual, someone that I want to see do well in her endeavors. What I find truly stands out about her, is her approach from the clients perspective coupled with the implicit product research that went on behind the scenes, topped up with a very ’Grace-like’ client-centric service that will exceed your expectations. Imagine that and you will know, these are oftentimes inherent attributes in people.
Obviously it’s natural to be skeptical about anything that you are sold on the streets, but the short conversation we had had already set her apart from the others. It turned out pretty quickly that I was the fortunate one in this meeting. For starters, Grace made sure we started off on the right foot by getting to know her client and having her client to know her better, which is that ideal two-way approach for a long term relationship you would want to have with your financial consultant. The quality of product recommendations that she makes thereafter, bundled with the research that she has done and cost benefit analysis based on your profile, would be the conclusion of your research had you been extremely diligent, only that it’s a version that is so much better.
In the fragmented industry of structured retail products the most important factors to be considered would be: the trust in the provider and the product research & analysis. However, that would still be insufficient if without the strong financial knowledge as the foundation. The lack thereof is usually what deters people from these products, which depending on circumstances are actually beneficial not only to them but also to the people around them and their lifestyles. Grace’s various stints in the financial industry and her analytical approach have been instrumental to providing the conclusive bulletproof recommendations that so require as clients. As proof of being a cut above the competition, the majority of her existing clientele are from the financial industry.
